Resin Composite Veneers: From Planning to Treatment

Course Description: This course will be an overview of resin composite veneers in everyday practice.  It will cover a predictable workflow of composite veneers, from the treatment planning to the case planning to the actual placement of the veneers.

Course Objectives: 

-Advantages/Disadvantages of composite veneers

-Benefits of facial-based treatment planning

-A variety of methods that composite resin can be used

-The procedure for applying a composite veneer

Our Lecturer: Elaine Bylis, DDS

Dr.  Elaine Bylis graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland, College Park with a  major in Neurophysiology.  She was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society upon her graduation. Dr. Bylis went on to attend the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and graduated in 2017.

Dr. Bylis received advanced training in cosmetic dentistry from the Nash Institute and was honored to later return to the Institute as a guest lecturer.  Dr. Bylis has been published in Dentistry Today.  The June 2018 online edition featured an article she wrote about guided mandibular implant surgery and the December 2020 print edition featured her article about digital planning and surgery.  Dr. Elaine Bylis was selected by Zyris Dental to host a five-part live video series that showcased women in the dental field.  She was also inducted into the International Academy of Dental-Facial Esthetics. 

Dr. Elaine Bylis possesses an undeniable passion for dentistry,  demonstrates excellent patient care and is a highly skilled practitioner. 

The evening will also include honoring the 2023 recipient of the Robert L. Burke DDS Memorial Volunteer Award, Dr. Steven Spitz

The Robert L. Burke, DDS Memorial Volunteer Award was established in 1999 in Dr. Burke’s honor to recognize outstanding volunteer efforts and contributions which have been put forth for the betterment of the dental society. The award is presented annually by the Executive Board of the Metropolitan District. This year's recipient, Dr. Steven Spitz, the 24th member so distinguished, will be honored during the Metropolitan District’s Met Gala Continuing Education Event.
